Game 3: Zero G Candy Blaster

Technically this game was supposed to be finished 3 days ago, but due to a hyper overactive schedule it was delayed. On Thursday I had a 5 hour drive. On Friday I had an 8 hour class. On Saturday I took the

I do plan, however, to continue the challenge. If at any point I miss a day or 2 or 3 that's no excuse for me to not make one the next day.

Anyway, on to the lengthy explanation about the game!

I Began this game late night on April 11th and am uploading it now at 5:00 P.M. April 14th.
Basically I just took the source code from Rocket Raiser and edited it into a shooter, changed the graphics and added a few features. My cousin Lydia wrote the menu song. That's about it. Enjoy the game!

Game 2: Rocket Raiser

OKAY so technically it has been 30 hours since
my last post. So perhaps I didn't exactly stick to the "game a day" thing. But I do have an excuse!
I played board games with my friends yesterday
from 7:00 to 10:30 yesterday and I was unable to program between 11:00 and 2:50 today. Those are usually my prime work hours.

Anyway, here we are with Rocket Raiser. This project was really fun for me. When I started I was
just gonna do a simple avoider game like MJW makes in his tutorial. But while fooling around with enemy graphics I had this awesome idea for falling
pieces of wall. I'm still not sure what the logical explanation for them being in the air is. Without any further boring explanation here's the game

Game 1: Trash Take Over

Phew, 24 hours and a lot of scrambling later my first game is officially out!

Trash Take Over's production began yesterday at around 2:00 pm and was finished at 11:00 AM
this morning.

I now have a much better idea of what I need to do to my game template in order to produce games more efficiently.

I decided to start with a Platformer because it's something I'm familiar with.

The biggest lesson I learned is that Using gradients in can give you a sweet looking background with very little effort. So with no Further ado I give you: TRASH TAKE OVER


Game a day Challenge

Once again I've decided to throw a challenge at myself! I intend to create 30 twenty four hour development time games. Since I'm going to be on the computer for a good portion of each day I decided I might as well blog about it.

This is a project that I'm very excited about. I think it's going to be a great learning experience for me. If any of you have made challenges for yourself be sure to let me know in the comments
